"there dwellt a miller"

there dwellt a miller

hale and bold

besides the river dee

he worked and song

from morn t ill night

no lark more blight

than he.

and this the burden of

song forever used t o be

i love my wife i love my friend

i love my children three.

i owe no penny i cannot pay

i thank the river dee

that turns the mill

and grinds the corn

nobody envies me.

you are wr ong said old king hall

you are wrong as wrong can be

your mealy cap is worth my  crown

thy  mill my  kingdoms fee

such men as thou are englands boast

o miller of the dee........
